"My (new) Philosophy!"
I feel that singing is a full body sport! This means that like all sports, you warm up, stretch, and practice on a regular basis while using your entire body. Your posture determines how you breathe. Your breathing determines the quality of your singing. The better you understand your instrument, the better quality your voice will be. I believe in a healthy, free style of singing that you can keep for your whole life! Singing is a lifelong practice, whether you continue to study in the future or not. It has benefits physically, mentally, and emotionally for every person. Keep singing! As a voice teacher, I seek to gain a better understanding of the resilience as well as the fragility of the voice, and body. Every student is different, and I happily cater my teaching style to my student's short and long term goals and needs. I want to work with you to unlock your fullest potential as a singer. As a piano teacher, I work with my students to develop a good understanding of the instrument and the technique required to play various genres of music. As a singer, I rely heavily on my piano skills to make learning songs easier. I can also accompany myself while singing, which is a valuable skill. I realize the importance of having another instrument in a singer's life and happily teach piano. |
Who I teach:
In my studio, I have a variety of students at different levels. I enjoy working with children starting at the age of 6, teenagers and adults. I am comfortable teaching a variety of styles: from musical theater, to classical and opera, to jazz, pop and Disney. All of my students have three things in common: They practice on a regular basis. They seek to improve. They are excited to learn and are ready to have fun. I teach weekly as well as bi-monthly lessons. Seeing each other on a consistent basis will enable you to grow faster! What I expect from my students:
